Pledge and Offering

Our budget requires $8,000 per week to fund the Chapel's programs. The offering for August 17 was $2960,45. Pledge cards are available in the back of the Chapel or in the office. Please remember the Chapel in your giving.

PLEASE NOTE THAT DURING CONSTRUCTION THE CHAPEL OFFICES WILL BE LOCATED IN THE YOUTH BUILDING.

Sunday School

Sunday School for children meets during the 10:30 service in the Brock building. Tracy Dickey is the teacher and she is looking forward to meeting you and your children. Come on over for a great time!

Faith Seeking Journey 

Beginning Sunday, September 14, Father Steve will conduct a Faith Seeking Journey at 9:15 am in the Youth Building.  This class is for all new members as well as those who would simply like to grow in their faith. Call the office if you are interested in attending or need more information. 

 Cursillo News

The next Men's Episcopal Cursillo #85 is scheduled for 9/25/-9/28. It will be held at the Duncan Center in Delray Beach. If you are interested in attending, please call Nancy McKirchy. 

  Home Fellowship

The Tuesday night Home Fellowship group has resumed their meetings. Home Fellowships are gatherings that include coffee and dessert, conversational bible study and good fellowship. Childcare is provided.  See Father Steve if you are interested in being a part of a small group or would like to start one.

Music Ministry

The adult choir is meeting only on Sunday mornings during the summer. We begin at 9:50 am in the choir room. If you would like to join our summer group please talk to the director, Jan Daniels.

The Chapel invites all who are interested in music or drama to join one of arts ministries at the Chapel. (choir, handbells, or drama).  Contact Jan Daniels for more information.  During the school year, the Adult choir rehearses on Thursday nights at 8:00 pm in the Parish Hall Choir room. The adult handbell choir rehearses at 7:00 pm.  No experience is necessary for  the groups.  

Alpha

Alpha will begin on September 3 and continue through to November 5 on Wednesday nights at 6:00 PM. The weekly meeting includes dinner, a video, music and discussion.  Childcare will be provided. Call the office for more information.

Prayers Needed

Please pray for the safety of Karen Boyle, our missionary in Mauritania. There has been a coup against the democracy last week in that country.

New Directory

Volunteers are needed to sign up parishioners for pictures to be used in the new directory. Pictures will be taken on October 14 , 15, and 16. If you would like to help with this project please call the office or sign the sheet on the deck.

Memorial

Pierrette Jones' son Bruce passed away this week in New York. Call the office for more information.

Chalice Bearer Training

Chalice Bearer training will be held on Saturday, September 20, 8:30-4:00, at St. Andrew's Church in Lake Worth. Cost is $25 and there is required reading prior to the class. You must obtain the Rector's permission to attend. Please call the office for more information.

Altar Flowers

The flowers on the altar today are given to the glory of God and in loving memory of Helen Tonian by her family.

Duncan Center Retreat

The Duncan Center is hosting a men's retreat entitled "Finding the Wise Man Within", on August 22 and 23.

The cost is $125 and includes meals. Call Veneta at 561-496-4130 to register. 

Family Promise

We will be hosting a family for Family Promise in December.  Many supplies are need for the family while they are with us. Donations can be bought to the Youth Building. Please pick up the list of needed items on Sunday at church. Also volunteers are needed to help support the family while they are with us. A host congregation has several things they need to do. Please call Faye Somers with questions.

Prayer Chain

 Outreach 

Outreach meetings will be held on the first Thursday of each month at 6:30 PM in the Youth Building.  All are welcome to join us and help those less fortunate.

The first Sunday of each month is Brown Bag Sunday. The ushers will distribute the bags during the service and you are to fill the bag according to the directions on it.  Return the filled bag on the third Sunday of the month and needy people form St. Lawrence Chapel and/or the Palanca Pantry will receive it.

The Palanca Pantry at Holy Redeemer has advised us that they need used refrigerators. If you have one to donate please call the office.

Daughters of the King

On the first Saturday of every month, the Daughters of the King meet at Eileen Cisco's home at 8:30 am. Call the church for directions. 

 Will and Cheryl Harman will lead a short term mission team of 12 people to Madagascar the end of March 2009.  Join us for an unforgettable experience.
