Join
in The Spirit of the Chapel Campaign
Last
Sunday we heard from our Vestry member Nancy McKirchy about
the generosity of a devoted Chapel member who offered
$30,000 to the Chapel towards the goal of making possible a
full-time priest. We also learned of the Diocese's proposal
to name the Rev. Debbie Self as the full time
Priest-in-Charge if the congregation can match this generous
offer. The congregation was asked to pray on this proposal.
Our members have overwhelmingly responded to the challenge
by offering $20,160 in new and/or additional pledges and
gifts. For those who did not receive one, a "Tongues of
Fire" pledge card is available at the back of the church
or in the Chapel office.
Please
pray about how you can participate in our campaign.
Service
Schedule
Weekday
services and study groups are suspended during the summer
months of June and July.
The
Vestry voted to offer as a general practice the Service of
Healing Prayer and Laying on of Hands at both services the
first Sunday of each month. In the event of a holy day or
special celebration, the service of Healing Prayer and
Laying on of Hands will be offered the third Sunday of the
month.
Happy
Birthday
We
wish a Happy Birthday to those celebrating birthdays this
week: Joan Buttery.
Stewardship
Pledge
cards for 2010 are available the office or on the deck after
services. Please prayerfully consider your giving for this
new year. We give thanks for all God provides us and
return a holy offering as thanksgiving.
As
you plan for the summer vacation season, please remember to
send in your weekly offering. Our expenses are ongoing and your help is
needed.
Pastoral

you are hospitalized or are planning to have surgery, please
contact the church office so that our clergy know. The

Episcopalian.

The
Adult Choir has suspended rehearsals for the summer. Thank you members for your
dedication to our music program!

an interest in learning to ring handbells, please contact Jan Daniels, the
director.

you ever felt called to go to the "ends of the earth" to work for the
spread of God's kingdom? The Verinders, board members of People Reaching
People, will be in Madagascar for three weeks this August 2010. They plan to
help move the Diocesan Offices and the Bishop's personal residence to the newly

Education
for Ministry
Looking
to deepen your understanding of the Christian Faith? Dig
deeper into your faith, study the Bible and Church history
and theological ideas and reflect on connecting faith with
life experience. This EFM program will be offered in the
Fall and taught by Emily Nell Lagerquist. More details to
come.
Family
Promise
This
past week the 35 member of the Chapel Family team hosted the guests in the program.
Family Promise is as initiative in South Palm Beach County where multiple
churches have banded together to house and feed homeless families who otherwise
would be homeless. Chapel volunteers dedicate 5 weeks each year to provide
shelter and food for theses families who otherwise would be homeless. Isn't
this what God calls us to do? We are all so fortunate and blessed with the love
of our immediate families and with the love of our Christian family. If you
have any questions or would like to become involved, call team captains Will
and Cheryl Harmon.
Flowers
If
you would like to give flowers to the glory of God as a
memorial or general thanksgiving, you may pick up a special
Flower Offering envelope on the table outside the Chapel
after the service. Your support helps us to glorify God in
our worship on Sunday morning.
Prayer
Requests
To
add a name to the Chapel's prayer list, please contact Barbara
in the Chapel office. We will share the prayer list
via email and start to share it next week in the Sunday
Ministries Bulletin to ensure our community is supporting
those asking for our prayers.
If
you wish to be a member of the Chapel Prayer team, send an
email to Barbara@chapelsta.org
and request that you be added to the distribution list.
Cursillo
If
you are interested in attending a Crusillo weekend or have any questions about
the application process, please contact Nancy McKirchy or call the office.
Harry
Kapreilian Memorial
In
December we lost our beloved sexton and member of the
congregation, Harry Kapreilian. He lived the life of a
dedicated servant of Christ and we greatly miss the great
care he took of the Chapel. The vestry has received the
recommendation to continue the Let Down Your Nets II
Campaign with the plan to rename the Parish hall Conference
Room, the Harry C. Kapreillian Memorial Conference Room. If
you would like to contribute to this memorial, please make checks
to the Chapel with a notation-Kapreilian Memorial. You may
place them in the offering plate of mail them to the Chapel
office.
Electronic
Offering
The
Chapel is now offering an Electronic Offering Program. This
is an easy and convenient way you to make your offering to
the church. Please consider enrolling by accessing the heart
shaped Donate button on our website under contacts.
